Find Lasting Relief from a Variety of Ailments

Depending on the issue and severity of symptoms, Dr. Jongeward will assess and provide a personalized treatment plan to help reduce pain, inflammation, and discomfort. Our chiropractic clinic can use a combination of chiropractic therapy and custom orthotics to provide our patients with the right treatment. We partner with patients to treat a wide variety of issues, including:

  • Lower Back, Knee, Hip Pain, and More

Ailments of the foot or ankle can often present with symptoms that reach much further than the expected foot pain or discomfort. Conditions, such as arch collapse within the foot, can unbalance and misalign your entire body, putting added stress on your knees, hips, or back.

It is recommended to see a doctor that can help assess your current situation and determine the root cause of your pain. Dr. Jongeward is experienced in helping patients pinpoint foot and ankle issues through examination, x-rays, and digital foot scanning technology. From there, he can provide a personalized treatment to provide relief.

  • Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis occurs when the band of tissue, also known as the fascia, at the bottom of your foot becomes inflamed. The fascia runs from the heel to the toes of the foot. Sufferers of plantar fasciitis most commonly present with heel pain, occuring at the onset of activity or after you have been sitting for a while. Because your fasica supports the muscles and arches of the foot, continued wear and tear can bring on chronic pain and inflammation.

There are a variety of treatment methods used to alleviate the symptoms of plantar fasciitis. These can range from icing the area and implementing stretches and therapeutic exercises to being fitted and wearing supportive orthotic shoes or inserts to provide additional cushioning and arch support.

  • Plastic Deformation

The arches in our feet are used and stretched everyday, whether through standing, walking, or other activity. Pushing your foot's arch past its limits can result in decreased elasticity. The soft tissues can remain extended and will not return to their original, structured state. This can cause the foot's entire structure to collapse.

While plastic deformation is not reversible, the use of custom orthotics can help to provide your feet with the structured arch needed to realign and rebalance your body. Orthotics can add stability and shock absorption, relieving pain and decreasing the risk of injury.

  • Overpronation

Overpronation, also referred to as flat feet, involves the collapse of the foot's arch and the rolling of the foot inward or downward, often when walking. This rolling motion disrupts the body's natural alignment and can put the patient at risk of injury. These injuries/symptoms can include:

    • Heel Pain
    • Chronic Lower Back Pain
    • Bunions
    • Plantar Fasciitis
    • Iliotibial Band Syndrome
    • Achilles Tendonitis
    • And More

Treatment can range from exercises to assist and strengthen the muscles of the foot to choosing footwear or inserts that provide the wearer increased structure and stability.

  • Achilles Tendonitis

Achilles tendonitis is a common condition involving the large tendon that runs down the back of your lower leg. Irritation and inflammation of this tendon can be caused by a number of acitivities, ranging from running, jumping, or overuse.

Unfortunately, this overuse and degenration of the tendon can cause swelling, pain, and irritation, with more severe cases progressing into an actual tear or rupture of the tendon.

In most cases, non-surgical treatment is successful in treating pain, but it can take time to allow the tendon to heal. On top of stretching and strengthening exercises, wearing orthotic devices or shoes with heel lifts can help to lessen the strain on this tendon.

Our Custom Fit Process

While there are a variety of over-the-counter orthotic inserts available, Foot Levelers custom orthotic products offer unparalleled support that is fabricated specifically just for you and your feet. Using a digital foot scanner, Dr. Jongeward can take a highly accurate scan of your feet, showing imbalances and pressure points that can be causing your pain. Your digital scan will be used to create your custom orthotic insert to provide maximum relief and comfort.

  • Step One

At your appointment, Dr. Jongeward will use a digital foot scanner to identify areas that could benefit from added orthotic support. This scan will provide us with all the precise details and measurements needed to fabricate your own custom insert.

  • Step Two

After your scan, we will go over the details of our findings, including recommended treatment, possible chiropractic therapies that could help you manage symptoms, and exercises and stretches you can perform at home to alleviate any discomfort. If orthotic inserts are the right fit for you, we'll take your digital impression and measurements to begin fabrication.

  • Step Three

Custom orthotics take, on average, a week to fabricate. Once your inserts are received, we'll have you in for a final fitting of your inserts. Dr. Jongeward will also go over any special care instructions and tips to help you break in your new inserts.
